General Contractor: Heather’s interest in construction began while earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University. Upon graduating she nurtured her interest by gaining hands-on experience while serving four years as an Active Duty Officer in the US Army and five years as an Active Reserve Officer. This experience honed her ability to manage complex projects, coordinate logistics, think strategically and lead teams effectively under pressure. In 2001, Heather officially began her construction career as a Project Engineer at Winter and earned the title of Operations Director by bringing leadership, integrity and a commitment to excellence to every aspect of her work at Winter. With over 23 years of experience in the construction industry, Heather has managed a vast variety of projects including courthouses, municipal buildings, telecom facilities, office buildings, condos, medical facilities, mixed-use developments and more. However, it is within the hospitality sector where her passion truly shines. She has built or renovated nearly 20 hotels and has developed a playbook for the successful delivery of hospitality projects. Heather values partnerships with subcontractors and appreciates working with them early in the preconstruction process, digging into the details of budget, schedule, logistics and constructability to set the groundwork for a successful project. Heather is a graduate of both the ABC Future Leaders and the ABC Advanced Leadership program. She has served as an ABC board member previously (2018-19) and she enjoys attending ABC events for all of the networking and educational opportunities. She is also an active member of the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance. Heather, her husband and their two children live in Roswell where they love to spend time outside as a family – hiking, running and playing soccer.
