The Georgia Legislative session has concluded for 2009. Our lobbyist, Rusty Paul, feels ABC of Georgia had "a pretty good year," and we "made giant steps in becoming a real player." Read his last Legislative Report and others from 2009 informing members about laws and other legislation affecting the construction industry.

EFCA
On behalf of its members, ABC is leading a coalition to introduce legislation in the Georgia House and Senate to adopt an amendment to guaranteee a secret ballot in Georgia. Please read the "Frequently Asked Questions" about the SOS Ballot intitiative
here or at
www.sosballot.org.ABC strongly opposes The Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) or "card check" Federal legislation which would end your workers' right to a private ballot in a union election, thereby inviting coercion and abuse. Organized labor, along with the vast majority of Democrats in Congress, have made the so-called Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), or "card check," a top priority and are persuading Congressmen to pledge their support. This legislation would give organized labor an unfair advantage in union organizing at the expense of both employees and employers.
Rest assured, ABC will do everything in its power to preserve and protect the fundamental right of individuals to vote by secret ballot. Please contact ABC President
Bill Anderson with questions or input.
