Technical Classes
Build it better

Throughout the year, ABC's Education Committee develops and executes original seminars, workshops, and programs based on current needs within the industry. ABC's technical classes are led by seasoned professionals who are still working on jobsites here in Georgia. Learn best practices on a wide range of topics including concrete, building envelope, LEED certification, and logistics.

Over the course of nine sessions, Construction Academy attendees will receive an in-depth review of a project's lifecycle, from pre-construction to closeout. Seasoned professionals from ABC member companies will lead group discussions and activities, answering questions along the way. This program is excellent for your new hires who don't have much industry experience or employees who don't spend a lot of time on jobsites.

Construction Academy can be taken as a full program or individual class. To register for the full program or individual classes, click on the links below:

This seminar will give you the “recipe” for a successful cast-in-place concrete pour. You will hear from experts who will share practical advice on the key ingredients of a good pour – formwork, reinforcing, post tension and ready-mix concrete. You will also hear about those things that can influence a pour – weather, schedule, logistics and budget.

Join a team from Shell McElroy, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates (WJE), Argos Ready Mix, CMC Rebar, Fly & Form Structures and NOVA Engineering & Environmental for a comprehensive look at the “recipe” for successful cast-in-place concrete construction.

This class is a must for all construction personnel having anything to do with concrete, at general contracting a specialty contracting companies. It will be particularly beneficial to younger personnel.
